Flat Adriana's big adventure in the Knoxville Tennessee

Flat Adriana's adventure on 04/25/2014 started when first checked into the very prestigious "Crowne Plaza." It is a very beautiful hotel run by a very kind manager, Mr. Ken Knight. "Hello, Flat Adriana and welcome to Knoxville, Tennessee. I am glad you had a safe flight from Long Island, New York. I have your room waiting for you! I hear you might have a very busy day! Don't worry if you need to spend an extra day."

Mr. Ken Knight the manager of the prestigious Crowne Plaza in Knoxville Tennessee personally welcomes Flat Adriana.

From the Crowne Plaza, Flat Adriana rode the Knoxville Area Transit trolley to Regus.

Flat Adriana on the trolley which is free in Knoxville.

Regus is a worldwide temporary office location. This is for business travelers and journalists who fly around the world! Flat Adriana checks the computer for her news assignment!

Flat Adriana, began to read her assignment from her editor  Mrs.Marianne  Dedmon. "Your assignment is to find out why Knoxville has the best  Mayor in the world. Your other assignment is to find out why Knoxville has the best journalists on the planet."

Mrs. Joyce Huddleston at the voting booth explains to Flat Adriana how the voting process works.

"Hello Mrs. Huddleston, I am a school reporter with "Bright Horizons School Newspaper." Is this where everyone in Knoxville Tennessee, votes for Mrs. Rogero? Can I vote for her?" Mrs. Huddleston, an election official with Knox County smiled and then started explaining the voting process to a confused Adriana."No, Mayor Rogero won the City Mayor race two years ago. She got the majority of voters. The vote that is going on behind us is for school board, judges, and county commission offices." Flat Adriana being a journalist asked another question. "Can I vote?" Mrs. Huddleston smiled and said, "Yes you can vote! But only in your school for student President!"

Deputy of Register of Deeds Nick McBride

As Flat Adriana walked past McBride's office, he noticed a confused look on her face. "Hello, can I help you?" Flat Adriana  looked at Mr. McBride and responded. "This building is so big and complicated! I don't know where to find the City Mayor's office."
Mr. McBride, always eager to help people, immediately responded." Oh, her office is on the 6th floor. Allow me to take you to the elevator."
Director of Mayoral Communications and Chief Public Information Officer Jesse Mayshark

"Hello Adriana and welcome to Knoxville! I am on the phone with Mayor Rogero right now. She will see you in ten minutes. Her office is just down the hall. Ten minutes might sound like a long time. However, you never know who your going to see in the hallway." Adriana thanked the very kind Mr. Mayshark, and was on her way!

Look, it's Community Development Director Tank Strickland. Mr. Strickland is so dedicated to the community the county named a park after him http://www.outdoorknoxville.com/places/parks/east/thomas-tank-strickland-park

Look it is Joshalyn Hundley. She is the Title 6 Coordinator for the City of Knoxville.

Oh and here is Chris Cauldwell. He spoke to me about finance and saving the change I get from my lunch money when I buy hot lunch. He was very helpful!

I then saw Attorney Athur Seymour. " Do I need a lawyer to ask Mayor Rogero questions?" I asked. "Oh no, chuckled the attorney. We have an open and transparent government here in Knoxville. The Mayor is friendly to everyone and answers lots of reporters questions everyday!"

Ok, I then went to the Mayor's waiting area. April Jones, was so nice and friendly! She explained to me all the important people that visit the Mayor everyday. She said everyone is important to the Mayor!

Since I had an extra minute before my meeting, I stepped into Jacquelyn Clay's office to see the advanced progress of the building demolition across the river.

Finally, my big interview with Mayor Rogero! I immediately asked her my most important question! "So why does Knoxville have the best Mayor in the world?"  Mayor Rogero responded. "Well, Flat Adriana, it is not that I am the best Mayor in the world. It is the fact that I got the best people in the world working for great citizens of Knoxville! Think of all the hard working nice people you have met today. Each one of them performs an important task in the community. Together everyone in City government helps make this a great place to live, work, and visit! Speaking of visiting have you gone to Market Square to see all the vibrant activity and positive things that are happening this weekend? This week is the Dogwood Arts Festival."

Flat Adriana responded. "Oh no! I am going there right now." So as Flat Adriana left the City Hall, she became worried and scared she then called her editor with an update. "I found out the answer to why Knoxville has the best Mayor in the world but I am having a hard time finding out why Knoxville has the best journalists in the world."

Look, it's the award winning, television news reporter Whitney Kent! http://www.local8now.com/station/bios/news/96381024.html

Reporter Whitney Kent welcomed Flat Adriana. "Hello Flat Adrianna! I hear your looking to find out why Knoxville has the best reporters in the world.  Hop on in the news truck. We got a breaking story!"
Flat Adriana was amazed! "Oh wow, your Whitney Kent! Your my hero! When I grow up I want to be a great journalist just like you! How do you know who I am? How did you know I am here and how did you know about the story I am working on?" Flat Adriana was puzzled as she asked so many questions. "My anonymous sources!" Exclaimed  Whitney Kent as she secretly got off the phone with Traci McDonell, the City of Knoxville webmaster.

Turns out Traci McDonell  heard that Flat Adriana was in need of help for her story so she called the Mayor asking if she could help. "Of course said the Mayor!" The webmaster then called her good friend Whitney Kent.

Flat Adriana and reporter Whitney Kent race to the breaking news scene!
"Buckle up!" Whitney Kent said.

The news van quickly arrived at Latitude 35! Reporter Whitney Kent then met the owner Jimmy Buckner and began to talk. "I hear you won a major award today for having the best restaurant in Knoxville! Can we get an interview?"  Mr. Buckner responded "sure"

Flat Adriana held the camera as the interview went on. Immediately, it dawned on Flat Adriana why Knoxville has the best reporters in world. It is cause they are the nicest, smartest, and coolest reporters in the world. Who just happen to have the best sources in the world!

The end! For now!
